Minutes support.
Before your first recording
Open Settings → On-device speech and install the speaker models. Approve Microphone and Speech Recognition when requested. On Mac, system audio also needs Screen & System Audio Recording permission. Use a short non-private test recording before an important meeting.
Calendar connection
Choose Google Calendar → Connect Google and approve the two read-only Calendar permissions. The app cannot edit your calendar. If Google's verification or testing restrictions block your account, check the release notes and contact support. Apple Calendar is an alternative on supported devices.
Speaker names and samples
Open People within a meeting to listen to a sample and confirm who spoke. Remember voice is optional and needs at least 20 seconds of compatible usable speech. Old-model profiles may need a new sample. A saved embedding alone cannot reconstruct audio: listening needs the original timed recording. Voice profiles stay on the device that saved them.
Recording consent
Tell everyone in the meeting that you are recording. Many places require every participant's consent. Minutes never joins calls or announces itself, so this is up to you.
Sync between Mac and iPhone
Turn on Settings → Sync on each device while signed in to the same Apple Account. Changes usually appear within a few minutes; choose Sync Now to check immediately. Recordings sync only with Include recordings on. Remembered voices stay on the device that learned them, so confirm a speaker once per device. Remove iCloud Copy deletes the synced copy and keeps meetings on your devices.
Saving to a Parachute vault
In Settings → Connections, enter your Parachute server's address, choose Sign In, and pick the vault Minutes may write to on your server's approval page. Each meeting becomes one note in the folder you choose; exporting again updates it, and edits you make in the vault are never overwritten.
Audio route changes
iPhone prefers its built-in microphone. If an audio device connects or disappears, Minutes attempts to recover capture while preserving saved audio; a brief gap can remain. Check the visible recording source and save a short test. If capture fails, original saved audio is retained where available for recovery.
